bAs requested on the ARES NET this evening, here are the details on the reinstatement of the Syracuse City ERC NET on Sunday evenings at 9pm:

- KI7HBJ

CQ CQ CQ - All Amateur Radio Operators in Syracuse:

It's been dormant for a little while.  We are reinstating the Syracuse City ERC (Emergency Response Communications) NET on its original day, time and frequency.  This is a weekly NET on Sundays @ 9pm on 145.310 MHz (no PL tone) Simplex.

This will take place after the Layton Storehouse ERC NET, for those who attend that NET at 8:30pm.

*** We Invite All HAMs to Participate ***

Although the primary audience for this net are all City District & Area ERC Specialists from Syracuse, Syracuse Bluff, Syracuse Legacy Park, Syracuse South & Syracuse West Districts, ALL are welcome to check-in to this weekly NET.

[A City District has the same boundaries as a Stake in Syracuse.]

The purpose of this NET is to train radio operators in emergency procedures, to test their radio equipment, and practice communications protocols.

Coming in April, we will be involved in a City Wide Disaster Drill, where the City Disaster Preparedness Committee will be evaluating the integrity and effectiveness of communications from the City's Emergency Operation Center down to Residents, and in return.  Getting practice in now, before the drill, or a real event, will help us to be prepared to ensure we are all able to communicate with each other during emergencies.
