Scouting for Food Sat, March 16, 8:00am – 2:30pm

Great Salt Lake Council, BSA, 525 Foothill Dr, Salt Lake City, UT 84113, USA

Salt Lake Council of the Boy Scouts of America in conjunction with the Utah Food Bank present the annual Scouting for Food.

When: March 16, 2019

Where: Throughout Salt Lake County

Please join the local Scouts as they help us fight hunger statewide. Every year HAM's assist by operating a Net Control station at the Scout headquarters at the University of Utah, fixed location stations at each of the drop off points and mobile stations responsible for insuring that the fixed locations have what they need.

Net Control is responsible for contacting all of the fixed locations to insure that the numbers for containers, scouts and adults are reported properly to the Council management, as well as directing the mobile operators to the fixed locations.  The fixed location operators are responsible for interfacing with the Scout Leaders at their location to insure they get the proper numbers to report back to Net Control as well as reporting if the location is in need of additional resources (e.g. totes, pallets or trucks). Mobile operators travel their section to insure that the fixed locations have their radio support volunteers on site and to insure fixed locations get the resources they need.
